NKOTBSB album

I know what you're thinking, "cinr, can't you just get over your pre-teen girl obsession with the Backstreet Boys and move on already!?" The answer of course is, no.

Just deal with it.

Today, the day of my favorite holiday, I discovered that there was an announcement made this week regarding the release of a NKOTBSB album. Now, imagine my surprise when I read that the release date is slated for May 24, my favorite non-holiday day of the year!

[gasp]

I'm kind of impartial to the New Kids as musicians, I was so young when they hit the charts and have never really been motivated to check them out now. However, as individuals whom I receive an RSS feed of their twitter accounts, they seem to be nice, comedic, loyal to their fans, and beyond passionate about what they do, so I'm pretty excited about the NKOTBSB collaboration. I just wish I had tickets to one of their LA shows...[curse you unemployment!!!]

Alas, here is a picture from the Backstreet Boys' 2010 tour, which I did attend. And, I rocked the last row s seats with some wonderful friends.

Calcium For Strong Bones

You may not know this, but I have recently kept busy writing for SOCIALITELIFE.COM. It is great practice and I hope I get many more opportunities to do so. For now, see my last 8 posts.

Holding On To Rooney

I feel that after an avalanche of sugary mainstream celebrity news, now is an appropriate time to share my love for the less well known.

Ever since I saw Rooney on the OC, I've kind of loved them. The above photo is from 2005 when stephers and I got to meet Robert Schwartzman after a free concert on lower Sproul.

Here is some Rooney to keep your diet balanced.

Fans Believe In Demi Lovato

Seriously, I feel like justjaredjr right now with all this Disney star related news.

Demi Lovato has some devoted and loving fans. On March 10 Demi hacked her sister Dallas' twitter to say hi to fans and to make them laugh with some cropped photos of her face on various bodies.

To show Demi that they love her, this morning her fans had YouAreBeautifulDemi trending on Twitter. The Camp Rock 2 News Twitter (@CR2News) posted several old images of Demi smiling and having fun with family and friends, and a fan made video We Believe In Demi has been circulating.

Here is what the video, posted by 4everfanjonas, description says about the video:
Project #1
so @CR2News had this idea and told me. So as you may know, Demi hasn't always been very confident about herself and that's why she wrote Believe In Me.
So @Rooociioo and @CR2News made this video to show her that WE do believe in her.
This video will be made of pictures of her fans, her friends and family.

Seriously, those are some fabulous fans. And the song, LOVE it. I wish I had fans like that.

Selena Gomez Debuts 'Who Says' Video

Justin Bieber's lady friend, Selena Gomez debuted the video for her new single, Who Says, on the Disney Channel this weekend.

I don't mean to be a total Disney-teeny bopper with so many posts relating to Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus; I feel like a Disney whore. But, you know, they are kind of all over the place so I can't help it. Besides, don't act like you don't spend your vacations catching up on Wizards of Waverly Place or Sonny With A Chance.

Back to Ms. Gomez. The newest track from Selena Gomez and The Scene is a bubble gum catchy tune to all the haters. In a similar realm as Katy Perry's 'Firework' song, Selena's song is jam packed with self-esteem building lyrics like the opening, "I wouldn't want to be anybody else" and chorus opener, "I'm no beauty queen, I'm just beautiful me." It's a good song, one that I will no doubt be humming for the next month.

The video features Selena walking out on a photoshoot and continuing barefoot down the streets of LA and along the LA River Basin (aka the drainage canal). She then takes a taxi to the beach where she changes into some more beach appropriate clothes (long tank top, cut-offs, and tennis shoes) and joins her band for a show on the beach. Check it out for yourself below.

The '90's Are All That

According to EW, TeenNick will be going retro this fall with a 12-2am line-up of 90's classics like Pete & Pete, Keenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, and All That. 12-2am seems like a dumpy time placement, but I'll take it!

On the one hand, I am excited beyond belief that these shows will be shared with a new generation of kids. On the other hand, it kind of feels weird. I mean it seems like TeenNick's late night line-up will be the new Nick at Nite, and that makes me feel incredibly old.

The time spot will be appropriately dubbed The ’90s Are All That and, in addition to re-runs of favorites, may also feature some of Nickelodean's original movies like Good Burger.

My dream is for them to throw in some hosts kicking back on an orange couch, giving us some commentary during commercial breaks. And then, let's just title the segment SNICK. To kick it off, let's get Keenan and Kel back together.
