Teen Dream Revisited- Rider Strong

Shawn Hunter is the first "bad boy" I ever fell for. The boy who came from a broken family, was briefly adopted by a teacher, and would later discover he has a long lost brother, was the total oppostie of his BFF Cory Matthews who came from the pinnacle of perfect, family. You always felt bad for Shawn, like he was a lost puppy just trying to find a home. He was just one reason why Boy Meets World was, and will continue to be, one of my favorite TV shows.

So what has he been up to since then? Well like his co-star Ben Savage (ssssss), he spent some time in college and away from Hollywood after Boy Meets World ended. However, unlike Ben, Rider has since returned to the world of cameras and scripts and most recently was spotted at the Tribeca Film Festival in New York where Rider and his brother, Shiloh, debuted their new comedy short, Dungeon Master. Apparently, Rider and his brother were addicted to D&D and that is what inspired their new film.

I don't care much for D&D, but I have recently discovered the sci-fi and semi-gamer within me, so I kind of feel like Rider and I would be totally perfect together. Maybe I'll see him at Comic-Con this year *fingers crossed*

Interesting facts, according to his IMDB page: - Full name is Rider King Strong, "If I ever become a porn star, I won't have to change my name." (Please don't become a porn star, that's a Screech move, not classy) - Graduated magna cum laude from Columbia University, 2004 (such a smarty, I love me a man with a brain) - One of his close friends is Will Friedle, who was one of the other cast members of the show "Boy Meets World" (1993). They see each other often. (how precious is that, they KIT)

In Lesser News, Prince William Is Off The Market

Prince William and Kate Middleton are wedded!

You probably haven't heard about that yet, I mean with the worst tornadoes in recorded history ripping apart the southern US, it makes sense that the media coverage of the royal wedding would take a backseat.

Since my focus on this blog is non-real world news coverage, I don't have to worry about real problems, instead I have the luxury of putting up blinders to that serious stuff. I'll save that to the professionals. Or, atleast for another blog.

Check out some of 'The Best of The Royal Wedding' photos here.
^that little girl is my favorite part of this photo.

I didn't watch the wedding, nor do I completly understand the American fascination with the royals, but I feel obligated to give it some attention. If for no other reason, this post is to remind me that my dream of becoming a princess just became a little more difficult. How many more eligible Princes in their 20s are left in the world?!

Teen Dream Revisited- Devon Sawa

Fact: beside the Hanson and Backstreet posters plastered to the sky blue walls of my childhood room were smiling pictures of Devon Sawa.
Yup, that is the face of beauty to those of us raised in the 90s.

I was recently browsing my celeb news sources when I stumbled across a photo gallery of Mr. Sawa, shot by Tyler Shields.

He done grown up nice, no? For more pictures of Devon Sawa by Tyler Shields, check out this gallery.

What I did not know is that Devon was most recently on four episodes of the CW show, Nikita. I do not watch the show, obvi, otherwise I would have recognized my teen dream, but my brief research tells me that it also stars Shane West, another dream I shall revisit.

Ever since A Walk To Remember, Shane can do me no wrong. Remeber when Landon took Jamie to the stateline so she could see her dream of being in two places at once? That is some teen romance at it's best; also it is the only Nicholas Sparks book I was not disappointed with when it came to the big screen. Oh how times have changed, teen romance use to be so innocent and virginal.

Anyways, after the recent Devon siting I have decided to reasearch some of my other dream guys. If you, like me, missed Devon on Nikita, you can check him out in either the thrill movie, 388 Arlette Avenue, or the horror film The Sibling, both set for release (according to IMDB) in 2011.

Next up, Rider Strong. Get excited.

Neil Patrick Harris Shows Off His Family

Ok, if that Selena/Demi picture didn't make you smile, then I bet this next picture will!
Neil Patrick Harris posted the above image to Twitter on Sunday with the following caption:
Relaxing on a Sunday afternoon. My heart is full of love

Now my heart is full of love <3 Have I mentioned that NPH and David Burtka are, in my opinion, the greatest looking couple. Two attractive men that I will never have a chance with...le sigh. Back to the photo! If you are not smiling right now, you obvi have no heart and thus there is no way to fill it with love. My advice, find a yellow brick road and start searching for a wizard. Harry Potter may or may not be the wizard you need.

Demi Lovato is Sonny No More

Sad news to my fellow Disney Channel junkies, Demi Lovato has offically left Sonny With A Chance.

I know, you are thinking, "NO!!!! This must be some nasty gossip Demi haters are spreading. Those jerks always gotta be so mean."

Unfortunately, it is with sorrow that I inform you Demi Lovato herself has announced the departure. Today on Twitter Demi had the following to say about Sonny.

Sonny was a chapter in my life I will be forever grateful for.. Thank you all for watching.. Can't wait to see the new format for So Random!

In an interview with People Magazine, Demi states that she doesn't think returning to the show would be beneficial to her recovering, adding that "being in front of a camera would make me nervous." How can I be mad at her when she is totally looking to protect herself. Look at her acting all mature and grown-up. Cheers to her for being able to make that difficult decision.

In good news, Demi will continue to work on her music and has plans to tour later this year.

So...Miley is wrapped with Hannah Montana, Selena is finishing the final season of Wizards of Waverly Place, and Demi is now through with Sonny With A Chance. Disney is all out of Tween Queens, do we have any contenders to replace them?

To put a smile on your face, here is a photo of Selena and Demi acting like BFFs again. The picture was posted to Twitter in late March of this year.

Admit it, you are happy to see the two back together.

Catherine Zeta Jones Seeks Help

The always beautiful and graceful Catherine Zeta Jones recently entered an unidentified facility to receive treatment for a Bipolar II disorder.

It is so refreshing to see someone seek help before they fall apart in a public way.

Zeta Jones has been under a lot of stress recently; understandably so since her husband, Michael Douglas, was diagnosed with stage-IV throat cancer last year. Douglas is now tumor free after months of radiation and chemotherapy. However, the battle with cancer is a grueling journey that affects the patient as well as the family and friends. Zeta-Jones has committed to a short stay at a facility to get back to health before beginning work on a new project.

It takes a great deal to admit that you need help, and I totally admire her boldness.

And here are some kind words from Demi Lovato, who left rehab in January after checking in mid-tour when a scuffle with a dancer got a little to serious.

I'm all about highlighting the positive role models. As Hannah Montana would say, "everyone makes mistakes, eveyone has those days." No one is without flaw, but if you carry yourself with poise and confidence even in your darkest hours you can still come out looking like a champion.

Here is to hoping that Catherine Zeta-Jones comes out an even more beautiful and graceful woman than before.

Bonnie Wright And Jamie Campbell Bower Confirm Engagement

There have been rumors of a Harry Potter/Twilight engagement for several months, but Jamie Campbell Bower of Twilight only recently confirmed the rumors regarding him and girlfriend Bonnie Wright to be true.

Bower, 22, and Wright, 20, are keeping the details of the wedding a secret. I respect their privacy. However, because I am currently avoiding any real work, I shall now speculate on the likely time of said nuptials.

Since the final installment of Harry Potter is coming out in June, I'm sure Wright and Bower, who portrays Gellert Grindelwald in the film, will be pretty busy in June and July with various premieres. Then, the next Twilight film is slated for release in November, so Bower might be preoccupied that month. Although, Bower is not actually in Breaking Dawn Part 1, he is committed to the series so we may see him float around premieres for publicity purposes.

Thus, I conclude that if the marriage takes place this year, it will likely occur in May, August, September, October, or December. I'm leaning more toward late summer and early fall, especially since the two are both currently working on projects. An August wedding would maximize their honeymoon time but it is also one of the wettest months. My research suggests September or October will offer more pleasant weather, thus I conclude September is the month.

Now we wait and see...

Do you think Robert Pattinson will be invited to the wedding? He and Bower have worked on both series, though I'm sure even they'll admit that Harry Potter is clearly the superior one. Don't get me wrong; while I openly love Harry Potter, I also closetly enjoy the Twilight books. I wonder if the vampires and wizards will be seated separately at the reception?

Speaking of Harry Potter, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part I comes out on DVD/Blu Ray tomorrow!

And Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part II is just two months away!

I'm filled with so many conflicting emotions right now. I haven't felt both excited and sad like this since the book release of Deathly Hallows. Why must all good things come to an end? Why can't they last forever?

Britneys back, biatch!

Pardon my French, I think I just took this blog to PG-13 with that language. Oh well, I is back! I'm sure you've been busy with serious stuff like graduate school or a career in law, I feel ya. In fact, I recently succombed to the smart phone trend and as a result I have been kept very busy playing Angry Birds. Why is shooting birds and killing pigs so much fun?!

Well, I've beaten Angry Birds and what is available of Angry Birds Rio so I find myself once again with time to waste.

So let's start by talking about another good looking blonde who is back, Britney Spears. Britney Spears is kind of having a good month. That is to be expected since Femme Fatale dropped in late March and garnered Ms. Spears her sixth number 1 album debut, girlfriend is now riding the wave of success. Last week she debuted the video for her second single off Fatale, Till the World Ends. Last Monday Rhianna released an S&M remix featuring Britney. Then, yesterday it was made official that Nicki Minaj will be joining the Femme Fatale tour.

I'm a fan of Britney mostly because her studio manufactured songs are so catchy, but I also like to see how she is re-building her image after the trainwreck of the mid-late '00s. I hope we never again see a bald Britney attack a car with an umbrella.

Woah! I totally just realized how poetic it is that Britney and Rhianna have done a song together. Umbrella ella ella eh eh eh eh. Oh the irony. And to sing a song about S/M...don't even get me started on the irony of a song about inflicting pain for pleasure being a huge hit for Rhianna.

I digress. This post is about Britney. Now, as much as I love Britney, I can't help but notice that her performances for the last 3-years have been underwhelming. Girlfriend use to be the master at putting on a show, but now she just kind of looks tired and stiff. In her videos she is more likely to be against a wall singing than in the middle of the dance floor performing. It is kind of sad to think that Britney is gone, I dislike change.

The good people of Pop Dust have created a mash up of old and new Britney that highlights the old highs and the new lows of Ms. Spears' performances. Check it out and see for yourself.

Here is to hoping that Britney handles the pressure of fame better this time around.
