NKOTBSB album

I know what you're thinking, "cinr, can't you just get over your pre-teen girl obsession with the Backstreet Boys and move on already!?" The answer of course is, no.

Just deal with it.

Today, the day of my favorite holiday, I discovered that there was an announcement made this week regarding the release of a NKOTBSB album. Now, imagine my surprise when I read that the release date is slated for May 24, my favorite non-holiday day of the year!

[gasp]

I'm kind of impartial to the New Kids as musicians, I was so young when they hit the charts and have never really been motivated to check them out now. However, as individuals whom I receive an RSS feed of their twitter accounts, they seem to be nice, comedic, loyal to their fans, and beyond passionate about what they do, so I'm pretty excited about the NKOTBSB collaboration. I just wish I had tickets to one of their LA shows...[curse you unemployment!!!]

Alas, here is a picture from the Backstreet Boys' 2010 tour, which I did attend. And, I rocked the last row s seats with some wonderful friends.

Holding On To Rooney

I feel that after an avalanche of sugary mainstream celebrity news, now is an appropriate time to share my love for the less well known.

Ever since I saw Rooney on the OC, I've kind of loved them. The above photo is from 2005 when stephers and I got to meet Robert Schwartzman after a free concert on lower Sproul.

Here is some Rooney to keep your diet balanced.

Fans Believe In Demi Lovato

Seriously, I feel like justjaredjr right now with all this Disney star related news.

Demi Lovato has some devoted and loving fans. On March 10 Demi hacked her sister Dallas' twitter to say hi to fans and to make them laugh with some cropped photos of her face on various bodies.

To show Demi that they love her, this morning her fans had YouAreBeautifulDemi trending on Twitter. The Camp Rock 2 News Twitter (@CR2News) posted several old images of Demi smiling and having fun with family and friends, and a fan made video We Believe In Demi has been circulating.

Here is what the video, posted by 4everfanjonas, description says about the video:
Project #1
so @CR2News had this idea and told me. So as you may know, Demi hasn't always been very confident about herself and that's why she wrote Believe In Me.
So @Rooociioo and @CR2News made this video to show her that WE do believe in her.
This video will be made of pictures of her fans, her friends and family.

Seriously, those are some fabulous fans. And the song, LOVE it. I wish I had fans like that.

Selena Gomez Debuts 'Who Says' Video

Justin Bieber's lady friend, Selena Gomez debuted the video for her new single, Who Says, on the Disney Channel this weekend.

I don't mean to be a total Disney-teeny bopper with so many posts relating to Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Miley Cyrus; I feel like a Disney whore. But, you know, they are kind of all over the place so I can't help it. Besides, don't act like you don't spend your vacations catching up on Wizards of Waverly Place or Sonny With A Chance.

Back to Ms. Gomez. The newest track from Selena Gomez and The Scene is a bubble gum catchy tune to all the haters. In a similar realm as Katy Perry's 'Firework' song, Selena's song is jam packed with self-esteem building lyrics like the opening, "I wouldn't want to be anybody else" and chorus opener, "I'm no beauty queen, I'm just beautiful me." It's a good song, one that I will no doubt be humming for the next month.

The video features Selena walking out on a photoshoot and continuing barefoot down the streets of LA and along the LA River Basin (aka the drainage canal). She then takes a taxi to the beach where she changes into some more beach appropriate clothes (long tank top, cut-offs, and tennis shoes) and joins her band for a show on the beach. Check it out for yourself below.

The '90's Are All That

According to EW, TeenNick will be going retro this fall with a 12-2am line-up of 90's classics like Pete & Pete, Keenan & Kel, The Amanda Show, and All That. 12-2am seems like a dumpy time placement, but I'll take it!

On the one hand, I am excited beyond belief that these shows will be shared with a new generation of kids. On the other hand, it kind of feels weird. I mean it seems like TeenNick's late night line-up will be the new Nick at Nite, and that makes me feel incredibly old.

The time spot will be appropriately dubbed The ’90s Are All That and, in addition to re-runs of favorites, may also feature some of Nickelodean's original movies like Good Burger.

My dream is for them to throw in some hosts kicking back on an orange couch, giving us some commentary during commercial breaks. And then, let's just title the segment SNICK. To kick it off, let's get Keenan and Kel back together.

Arrested Development Movie Details

Good News, Molly! The Arrested Development movie is so happening.

Jason Bateman talked with MTV News recently, while promoting new film Paul, about the Arrested Development movie that he is very excited about. Although there is still no completed script, Bateman met with Mitch Hurowitz last week to discuss the project. Bateman assures fans that Hurowitz is deep into writing the script, and Bateman is hopeful that filming will begin this year. As far as the plot, Bateman says, "It's incredible. It is everything you want it to be and more."

I know that is still not as exciting as hearing an actual release date, but it still gives hope to fans, like me, desperate to know what the Bluth family has been up to.

Amanda Please!

Remember when the young, sweet and innocent Amanda Bynes joined the once elite class of childhood comedians on All That, please? A world of possibilities opened for her, please. From All That to The Amanda Show and then to What I Like About You, Amanda Bynes had an ACTUAL successful television career, please. Penelope Taynt was my favorite, please. So polite and yet so deranged. Sidenote: Did you know Nickelodean still has the Amanda Please! website on its server? Memory lane, here I come!

And then, suddenly, it all sort of died. She went from star power on TV to back-up on movies. Although she has been linked to Blockbuster hits like Hairspray and Easy A, it seems like any headline concerning her is about her sexy twitpics, Maxim covershoot, or her early retirement from acting.

When she retired, I thought to myself, "what are you going to do? What can you do outside of acting?" The answers is, "Imma post twitpics of meself like a 12-year-old myspace kid to get attention." So sad, I can't take her seriously anymore because she has taken on this desperate for attention demeanor that plagues so many in the public eye. She is just no longer relate-able.

People who grow up in Hollywood be cray-cray.

Now, I like to keep my posts g-rated, so if you want to see photographs of her legs and/or her new bikini tops, check out her twitpics here.

Emma Watson Takes A Break From Brown

Emma Watson was recently seen out and about London with friends on a Monday night and it got me wondering, how is this Ivy League girl balancing school work in America with work and play in England?

It turns out Miss Watson has, understandably so, realized she might have bite off more than she can chew. In a message to fans on her website, Emma announced that she would be taking a break from school in order to focus on her career, particularly wrapping up her duties with the Harry Potter franchinse.

Hi everyone

As you know, I love Brown and I love studying pretty much more than anything but recently I've had so much to juggle that being a student AND fulfilling my other commitments has become a little impossible.

I've decided to take a bit of time off to completely finish my work on Harry Potter (the last one comes out this summer) and to focus on my other professional and acting projects. I will still be working towards my degree... it’s just going to take me a semester or two longer than I thought : )

Hope you are all well! Thank you for all your continuing support.

Emma xx

I don't blame the girl, I'd rather see her take a break from one thing now than to crush and burn later like so many young starlets.

Demi Lovato's message to fans

After leaving rehab in January, Demi is for the first time talking about her time in rehab and her plans for the future.

Demi took to Cambio News to post her first video to fans thanking them for all the support and encouragement during a difficult time. The just over 1 minute video clip features Demi at home looking cheerful and upbeat. She doesn't give any specific details on what issues she faced that sent her to rehab, simply calling them issues that girls of all ages are dealing with; and she doesn't say what work is in store for her, but says she is returning to work and is excited to share the work with fans.

It's nice to see her smiling again, and I look forward to seeing what's next for her. Watch the video below.

Miley Cyrus on SNL is surprisingly good

Miley Cyrus hosted SNL this weekend and I semi-enjoyed it. The song monologue that points out the flaws of other celebrities in order to detract from Miley's own mistakes was funny, but I can't help but think "Sure, maybe you haven't done those things yet, but all the celebrities you poked fun at are significantly older than you. So let's just give it time." I know that's unfair, but I just think Miley shouldn't be so condescending to her elders.

The monologue aside, Miley had an above average performance. Girl really can sing. And the highlight of the evening was seeing Miley Cyrus as Justin Bieber on The Miley Cyrus Show. Check out the video below, and for the whole show check it out on hulu.

Jelena

Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber have, more or less, officially come out as a couple. Before it was just paparazzo photos taken with long telephotos lens from behind a bush that we used as evidence of the couple. However, at the Vanity Fair Oscars party they walked the red carpet together and even re-tweeted the above photo of them together at the event.

I wonder if this coming out is Selena's birthday present to Justin. In the celebrity world, stepping out together on a red carpet might be the closest we get to an official statement. I mean, that's pretty big. So, happy 17th birthday Justin!

Of course, this also means that Selena's life is back in danger as I'm sure there were loyal Bieber fanatics who still held on to the hope that the two were "just friends." Wow, that is some big risk and sacrifice she is making, it must be love.
