Full House 25th Anniversary Reunion!

Full House premiered 25 years ago!

That is insane. Sadly, I can not remember that day for I was only 1 years old. Fortunately, all the people in this picture are old enough to remember.

On Saturday, September 22 the cast of Full House had a reunion to commemorate the big anniversary. The hunky street rat Scott Weigner was even in attendance for the event, which was a Tanner family reunion (sans little Michelle Tanner who probably moved as far away from San Francisco as possible once she was old enough).

The Olsen Twins were sadly absent from the reunion, but it is not all that surprising. While the other cast members have remained good friends (Andrea Barber and Candace Cameron Bure recently trained for a mud run together, Bob Saget, Dave Coulier, and John Stamos are routinely tweeting each other and hanging out, Lori Loughlin recently attended a performance of Best Man, starring John Stamos, Dave Coulier and Jodie Sweetin worked on a web-series together. etc.) the Olsen twins have been noticeably absent from these mini-reunions. In fact, the last time I remember seeing the Olsen twins with Full House cast members was at their New York Minute movie premiere in 2004. For all these reasons, their absence from the 25th anniversary is sad but not all that surprising.

Don't cry for them, they are doing just fine with their fashion empire. Still, it would be nice to see my childhood icons reunite.

Check out some pictures from the event that the cast members shared via social media (thank you, Twitter!).

And, let's not forget the New Kids on the Block dance party segment of the reunion. Jams brought to you by @DJMortyCoyle

Finally, because a post would not be complete without somehow tying me to it, check out this 2008 picture of me crossing off one of the items on my bucket list...

Kelly Kapowski and Zack Morris have babies!

If there is one thing I love more than pictures of my nephew, it is pictures of other people's adorable children.

Say hello to the new generation of Morris' and Tanners.

Thanks to Twitter, I get to see celebrity baby pictures galore because proud mamas and papas love to tweet that stuff. I am not ashamed to admit that I have a TGInineties Twitter list that I check regularly and use as a means to keep up with all my peeps (and my peep's kids) from the 90's. Yes, it does give me a false impression of friendship between me and these former idols, but I'm ok with living in a fantasy world so nbd.

Because I LOVE baby pictures and because I love to see what these fantasy-world friends are up to, I created a gallery to serve that purpose. Head on over to Socialitelife.com to check out my newest 90's Flashback piece and browse the gallery to see all the adorable pictures of your former-bff's children.

And, you are welcome.

Teen Dream Revisited: Scott Weinger

Most recognizable in my mind as D.J. Tanner's jock boyfriend who is always eating on Full House, Scott Weinger was an under appreciated 90s teen dream. I mean seriously, how many of you read the name in the title and thought, "Who?"

If you aren't familiar with his role in Full House then you should be ashamed of yourself. However, fortunately for you, he had an even more recognizable role!

Like fellow Teen Dream, JTT, Scott also lent his voice to Disney where he voiced the beloved street-rat turned prince, Aladdin. I had have the major hots for Aladdin and it is probably about 90% because when
I hear him:

I see him:

Supposedly, he does all the voice-over work for Aladdin: the movies, the shows, and all the many variations of video games, so if you ever want to reminisce you know where to find him :)

Also like some of his 90s counterparts, Scott stepped away from Hollywood for a bit to pursue higher education. Remember when he left Full House, wasn't that sad? However, I'm pretty sure I peed my pants when he showed up in the finale to take DJ to prom. *swoon*

The man who played the goofy jock on Full House went on to attend Harvard, where, according to his IMDb page, he graduated magna cum laude in 1998. Man, the 90s (well, technically the 80s/70s) really produced some amazing men. Will this generation of kids be as fortunate when it comes to Teen Dreams?

So what is Scott doing today?

He is still in Hollywood, though he now spends most of his time locked up in a writing room. Did any of you catch tonights 90210 episode? If not, you might consider watching it to show some support since that episode was written by Scott! He is currently on the 90210 writing staff, and has written previously for Privileged and What I Like About You.

If you want more information on what Scott is doing, follow his (unverified) Twitter @ScottWeinger

Happy Birthday Jodie Sweetin, aka Stephanie Tanner

January 19th, 2012 will forever be the day Stephanie Tanner turned 30 years old, and all of us felt the pain of realizing just how very old we are becoming.

ISN'T THAT CRAZY?

First of all, I always felt like she was so much older than me and Michelle Tanner, so how is it that I hear 30 and think, "Oh, I'll be there soon." Secondly, when did any of us become adults because I'm pretty sure we are all still the exact same age as we were when Full House ended. Wait a minute, in my mind Full House never ended, so how could Stephanie be 30 when I saw her the other day and she was just 14 years old?

Well, regardless of what I think, Jodie Sweetin is indeed 30 years old now, and she celebrated last night with some friends. Uncle Joey jammed on his harmonica at the event, isn't that just soooo Joey Gladstone?

The rest of the Tanner family appears to have been absent from the event. My guess is that Michelle was off with Teddy getting crunk in the East Bay (because the East Bay is obviously superior in terms of crunkiness than SF). Uncle Jesse is off on his 'Jesse and the Rippers' Reunion tour in Asia. DJ couldn't find a babysitter for her kids and her husband, Steve, is off touring with Uncle Jesse. Aunt Becky and Danny were 'working' until late on their show. As for the twins, those two are way too cool to be seen at a Tanner-sponsored event; besides, they were too busy washing their hair last night to make an appearance. As for Kimmy Gibler, Stephanie always hated that one so it is very unlikely she was invited though it is very possible to party crashed.

The Tanners of the 2010s are not the same Tanners you wanted to adopt you in the early 90s. Why? Why must things change?

Although, if you'd like to see more Uncle Joey and Stephanie, you can check them out on the web-series Can't Get Arrested.

Full House Reunion in Full Blouse

New webseries, Can't Get Arrested had premiered. Now, let me tell you everything I know about this show (which is very little)
- it stars Dave Coulier (aka Uncle Joey)
- features Jodie Sweetin (Stephanie Tanner) and Dennis Haskins (Mr. Belding)
- Candace Cameron Bure is supposedly in a future episode, thus forming a near Full House reunion

Check it out

Teen Dream Revisited - Jaleel White

Its a rare condition in this day and age
To read any good news on the newspaper page
Love and tradition of the grand design,
Some people say its even harder to find.
Well then there must be some magic clue
Inside these gentle walls
Cause all I see is a tower of dreams
Real love burstin out of every seam.
Family Matters, Full House, Step by Step, and Boy Meets World are the four TGIF shows that defined my Friday nights as a child. While I was falling for bad boy Shawn Hunter on BMW, I was also falling for the suave, sexy (ok, at 10 I was probably not thinking sexy) Stefan Urquelle. The idea that Steve Urkel and Stefan Urquelle were played by the same person was beyond mind blowing to my pre-teen brain. Stefan was so confident, good looking, and smooth with the ladies, no way was he the same guy as Urkel!
In retrospect, the show probably had a pretty bad message when you consider that Steve Urkel had to create a machine to tranform his DNA in order to turn himself into a cool guy before Laura would even consider giving him the time of day. And then that whole, Steve dating Myra thing while Laura was falling for Stefan is a little weird; regardless, I love this show.

What has Jaleel White been up to since he left Steve and Stefan for good? Like the other level-headed 90s teen television stars, he attended and graduated college. He graduated from UCLA Film School in 2001. Seriously, these kids from the 90s are awesome, no wonder we all turned out so normal. It pains me to think what the generation raised on 2000s TV will become...

I keep up with Jaleel on Twitter (because we are tots bff, duh!) and this is what I know: 1) according to his bio, he once got busy in a Burger King bathroom. 2) he approves of Tia Mowry, husband (some actor I've never heard of), and the soon to come addition 3) he has a daughter 4) he recently did some community service (picture below)
And, my own Psych addiction tells me that he was in an episode in 2009, along with fellow 90s guy, Keenan Thompson.

Next up for him, Judy Moody and the Not Bummer Summer.
