Do big names in a movie necessarily mean the movie will be a box office smash?
Ben Affleck is gearing up to start work on his new film, Argo, and the cast so far includes John Goodman (Roseanne, but more importantly Sulley from Monsters, Inc.), Alan Arkin (grandpa/dad in Little Miss Sunshine and Sunshine Cleaning), and Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad, also the dad from Malcolm in the Middle). The cast list is far from complete, but there is still buzz that, with Affleck starring and directing in it, it could be a huge hit.
Here is my question to you, do you think the names are important in the success of a movie/show/play? Take for example, Valentine's Day. That movie had a little bit of everyone in it, but overall I felt that it disappointed.
In a semi related note, but mostly in an attempt to plug my own work, check out the adorable pictures of Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner, and daughters Violet and Seraphina spending some quality time together.
